Job Summary: The Clinical Assistant Professor of Cardiothoracic & Vascular Surgery is a non-tenure track position that will practice in the multi-specialty cardiovascular and thoracic service line clinic. This position is actively involved in patient care and teaching medical students and residents in the ambulatory clinics, as well as the hospital surgery/inpatient service. Appropriate effort and activity in clinical research and service will also be necessary as well as a clinical record of sufficient depth to qualify for faculty appointment at the rank of Clinical Assistant Professor. The position will work with existing Oklahoma State University- Center for Health Sciences (OSU-CHS) administration to develop an operational practice.
Reports directly to the Chair of Internal Medicine
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift, carry push, and pull 20 pounds, stoop, reach, stand, walk, finger, grasp, feel, talk, hear, see and perform repetitive motions with or without reasonable accommodations. Sufficient to carry out specific job functions of a Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgeon.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
40% Outpatient Clinics: Develop an outpatient cardiothoracic & vascular surgery practice.
45% Inpatient Service: Provide an cardiothoracic and vascular surgery service at Oklahoma State University Medical Center
10% Training: Work with residents and osteopathic medical students through the practice to further their education.
5% Administrative: Other duties as assigned by the Chair of the Internal Medicine Department. Duties could include departmental coverage and committee assignments.
