The VA Southern Nevada Healthcare System (VASNHS) in Las Vegas NV is recruiting for BC/BE Family Medicine and Internal Medicine Physicians to fill Staff, Clinical-Based Hybrid Tele-Health and Supervisory Primary Care Physician (PCP) positions. In addition to our main facility in Las Vegas, we offer services in three community-based outpatient clinics located in Henderson, Pahrump and Laughlin, and at four Primary Care Clinics in the Las Vegas Metropolitan area. The Supervising Physician will be assigned at the Laughlin Primary Care Clinic, Laughlin Nevada, and is a leadership position that is responsible for all aspects of primary care delivery and supervision of staff. In conjunction with the Chief of Primary Care and the Assistant Chief of Primary Care, the Supervisor will be responsible for planning, organizing, developing, implementing, controlling and refining a comprehensive patient management/clinical support program. The selected Primary Care Physician (PCP) Supervisor (BC FM &/or BC IM) will provide services and technical counsel as necessary, promoting the development of professional staff within the clinic through coaching, mentoring, teaching, and encouraging self-assessment and self-improvement; and meeting the care and treatment needs of patients to achieve maximum utilization of patient care resources in a cost-effective, efficient, and timely manner. The PCP Supervisor should be a forward thinking physician who embraces Primary Care delivered via a Care Team (PACT/PCMH) model with the ability to manage both local and rural operations maximizing use of virtual technology. The ideal PCP Supervisory candidate will possess the following characteristics and attributes:
The Staff Primary Care Physician (PCP) selected Physician, who is BC/BE in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine, will be responsible for providing primary care for patients through our Tele-Health System. The selected physician provides appropriate care for Veterans ranging in age from 18 through geriatric years, taking into consideration diagnosis and physical, functional, psychosocial, spiritual and cultural needs. The Physician serves as a provider who is highly skilled in the management of a patient's primary care needs and evaluation of need for subspecialty referral. The Physician is responsible to contribute to the achievements of quality of care standards, efficiency, process improvement, and patient satisfaction. The Physician writes orders for diagnostic testing, prescribed medications, and consultation to specialty services utilizing computer-keyboarding techniques. The Physician is expected to practice in accordance with professional standards, core values and with a commitment to service excellence. The Physician will serve as a resource for Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants who are also delivering primary care and responds to all staff in the primary care teams in regards to patient concerns. Location: Assignment availability and interests will be discussed during interview, and may include any one of the following Primary Care Clinics, based on available openings and physician's interests:
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Some weekend and holiday tours may be required to ensure patient care, and will discussed during interview. Required Qualifications For Consideration:
