Phoenix Children’s Hospital has provided hope, healing, and the best healthcare for children since it was born in 1983, and it has grown to become one of the largest children’s hospitals in the country and it is Arizona’s only hospital dedicated to children. The hospital is home to the state’s largest group of pediatric specialists and sub-specialists providing the best care to the sickest kids. Phoenix Children’s continues to evolve its world-class care and is working with leading local and national research partners to uncover new breakthroughs in pediatric medicine. With a Medical Staff of nearly 1,000 pediatric specialists, Phoenix Children’s provides inpatient, outpatient, trauma and emergency care across more than 70 pediatric subspecialties, the most comprehensive pediatric care available in the state. The Hospital’s six Centers of Excellence include Barrow Neurological Institute at Phoenix Children’s Hospital; Phoenix Children’s Heart Center; Center for Pediatric Orthopedics; Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders; Level One Pediatric Trauma Center and Neonatal Intensive Care and these have grown in size and expertise since its inception. Phoenix Children’s Hospital is seeking talented, energetic and collegial Pediatric Physiatrists to join a division currently consisting of an experienced physiatrist (division chief) and experienced nurse practitioner with plans to grow to at least three physicians. PCH has a dedicated 12-bed inpatient Rehabilitation Unit, which opened in 2013 and is the only pediatric rehabilitation unit in Arizona. The physicians in the Division of PM&R are employed under Phoenix Children’s Medical Group and work collaboratively with others in neuroscience under the auspices of the Barrow Neurologic Institute for Children at PCH. This position would share coverage of the inpatient rehabilitation unit, the inpatient PM&R consult service, and both outpatient physiatry as well as multi-disciplinary clinics. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in program development, a broad base of clinical knowledge, and particular interest in botulinum toxin/ phenol injections. There are opportunities to participate in clinical research. To support the Division, PCH has the full complement of pediatric specialists, therapists, psychologists and neuropsychologists. PCH is cited by US News and World Report as a top children’s hospital in ten specialty areas and has also been one of only a handful of children’s hospitals in the US to attain Leapfrog Certification. Our main academic partner is the University of Arizona College of Medicine-Phoenix where PCH doctors constitute the Department of Child Health. We also have academic affiliations with Arizona State University, the Mayo Clinic and Creighton University College of Medicine. We have a large pediatric residency program, a neurology residency, and we participate in a joint Med-Peds residency.
